Personalty

Found at a young age on the steps of an old temple in a forgotten city, Meira has no memories of her life before that date as such she finds it hard to relate to most people. Often coming off as cold or distant because of her lack of interaction with others she has an extreme fondness for dragonlings and them for her. They can often be found trailing after her and almost seem atune to her moods, She is fond of Dessan and Dilana, the high priest and priestess of Aelos, the earth dragon, because they found her and took her home with them. The city was destroyed being overrun by wraith. She enjoys soltitude and spends most of her time in the library, preferring books to people. She has a hard time feeling emotions and often wonders if she has any but for those that manage a place in her life she is protective and loyal. 

In the Beginning...

“If the sky could dream, it would dream of dragons.” 

There was a great battle between four of the great dragons, the earth, air, water, and fire dragons decided t Syri and Isairilo fight. No one knows how or why this battle took place but history tells of the results, the creation of the world known as Antares. Somehow during the battle without realizing it their powers combined and the world was created. They paused their fighting in awe of what they had done. 

Each dragon was so happy that they decided to give this new world gifts to make it better. And these gifts were the very elements over which they held dominion, Aelos of the Earth gave it mountains, trees, and plants. Valeira of the Air gave it breatable air, clouds, and wind. Develan of the Water gave to it oceans, lakes, and streams. And lastly, Kelorri of the Fire gave it fire, the suns, and volcanos. This made the world suitable for life and not wanting to waste their creation each dragon created a race. 

Aelos created the race of man., Valeira the faeries,.Devela mermaids and Kelorri witches. In time, there would be more races than the orginal four. They emerged from them becoming new races that spread across the world. This left the Great Dragons with the question of how to rule this new world, so they sought out the wisest and strongest of their kind, the queen and king,  Syri and Isairil.

The Decree of Dragons...

They were advised that the universe or fate would decide the path for their creations. So, the Great Dragons returned to their home in the sky but left their creations, a gift. a way to advise or assist their childern. The creation of the dragon priest and priestess. On the world exist dragonlings, smaller versions of the Great Dragons. Theses creatures are treated with great respect and are free to wander the world as they will. It is a sign of good fortune if one chooses to stay with you. Because they can speak to the great dragons and only the dragon priestess can speak to them, each priestess is born with a special dragonling, the color of the Great Dragon upon which she serves, This dragonling dies when his or her priestess does.

The priestess is the voice of the dragon on earth. Only one person has that role for each of the great dragons. When a new one is born, the reign of the previous is coming to an end and the old one trains the new. The previous priestess is treated with respect till she dies but she is no longer the dragon's voice. Likewise, the dragon priest has only one for each dragon. They are born before the priestess and are the first sign that a new priestess will be coming.

Unlike, the priestess they do not talk to the dragonlings. Instead they protect the priestess. They are granted the power of the dragon and are charged with keeping the voice of the dragon safe. They are trained by the outgoing preist. Sometimes, a priest survives the death of his priestess, this happens with unnatural deaths, most who do--don't fare well. Normally there are only four but in times of great need the king and queen will also get a priest and priestess. The Queen's priest and priestess are reversed with the warrior being rhe priestess and the voice the priest.

The Lost City...

I am not lost. To be lost, you have to know where it is you're supposed to be., and I don't even know that.

For Meira, the world or at least her memories of it began the day she met the priest and priestess of Aelos in a cursed city. The pai had come with many others seeking answers to a raising evil in the land--the wraith. At the time she knew nothing of the strange conditions that led to the child, Dilana becoming priestess years before she should. She only knew that she was drawn to the strangers. In this place worship of the dragons no longer existed and some say they were cursed for it. But she had no information on that it was like she came into being at that moment and for all she knows she did.

However, despite this fact they managed to gain the support of the vampire queen because she was reminded of her daughter and despite the city being over run by wraith they were able to destory it and escape. Thanks to a young woman who was in love with Dessan and turning into a wraith. She was able to maintain enough of her humanity to fight back and give her life for her friends.

Before they left as they were fleeing the city Meira followed after them calling out from the steps of an old temple. She was drawn to Dessan for reasons that she did not know, He paused for a moment and gestured to the faerie king, Mahari who was along for the trip, who picked her up. They took her with them as the city fell apart and with it thre wraith or so they hoped. After they escaped she was put on the ground and she ran to Dessan clinging to them. She refused to talk or let go. It was decided he would take her with Dilana and himself and see if in time they could get her to open up.

A New Life...

A library is a house of hope. It's a place where we all, whatever our situation, can feed our ideas and develop our dreams.

This was how Lyvanna came to be her home. She was adopted by the king at the request of Dessan and Dilana. And followed Dessan around whenever she could. Slowly she would come to understand this new world and search for her place among it. She found a fondness for books and wanted to read more than deal with people. She only felt comfortable around a few and hardly left the library often sleeping there. The king allowed her to become a librarian when she got older having a knack for it and not wanting to leave it she agreed.

When she was a child she had awful dreams and it was Dessan that would chase them away making her grow fonder of him everyday. Many people believed she had a special fate and that someday she would be the mistress of Dessan as his feelings for her were almost as strong as those for his priestess. However, this future scared her because she didn't believe she was worthy and fearing her lack of emotions and lack of desires would limit this relationship, even if he was one of the few she would even consider.

She has a hard time forming bonds because of not knowing her past. The memories did not return even after all these years. Trying to postpone her fate she made the king mad who ordered her to do it. After a talk with Dessan she decided to move forward but first the dreams from her past were back and she sought out answers hoping to discover the truth of her past. She went to see Mahari, the oldest being she knew to see if he knew anything. It seemed that her own body was changing almost like she was becoming something else.

Fate's Path...

Do not fashion me into a maiden that needs saving for I am a dragon and I will eat you whole.

Seeking out the king he told her the truth. She is the priestess of the dragon queen, Syri. The wraith are returning to the world and the need is great so the king and queen's priest and priestess are also needed. Fate knew that Dessan would look after her and thus she was drawn to him. She just needed to ask him to help with her training. It seemed that she was the opposite of a normal priestess she was a warrior who would protect her priest. Her priest who was the faerie king himself. 

Unsure what to make of all this she decided she would need to ask Dessan to train her to fight and spend more time with Mahari, since the priest and priestess of dragons are promised to be wed. It also became clear she would need to search her past somehow to learn why she was chosen and what it means. Mahari encouraged her to trust her instincts telling her she knows what she needs to do. 

She returned home and revealed what she learned. Now she just needs to unravel the dreams, seek out her past, learn about her powers, and stop the rise of the wraith with the help of her friends. She has to deal with the new emotions and what it means to be promised to the faeries king. all things come to those who wait, right?
